Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze influence of knowledge and attitude toward AIDS in middle school students upon prevention awareness. This study was carried out targeting 306 students from two middle schools located in C Province from May 11 to May 29, 2009. SPSS WIN 12.0 Version program was used for statistical processing. The statistical significance was set to p<0.05. Results are as follows: In correlation among variables, the experience of sex education showed low positive correlation with prevention awareness (r=0.146, p<0.05). The institution of AIDS education showed a negative correlation with prevention awareness (r=-0.219, p<0.01). On the other hand, general knowledge (r=0.182, p<0.01), infection-route knowledge (r=0.157, p<0.01), and attitude knowledge (r=0.280, p<0.01) showed low positive correlation with prevention awareness. As for influence of AIDS knowledge upon prevention awareness, the institution of AIDS education (b=-0.168, t=-2.085, p<0.05) and attitude (b=0.244, t=2.963, p<0.01) were indicated to have significant influence upon prevention awareness.
